I had been seeing advertisements for Red Robin during every Detroit Tigers baseball game I watched. I’d never even heard of Red Robin, so I figured the restaurant was closer to Detroit. Come to find out, there is one in nearby Flint, MI. So, I decided I was going to try one of their delicious looking burgers.
For those who do not know what Red Robin is, it is a burger chain that is located in various states across the United States.
I should tell you, I’m very picky about how I like my burgers cooked. While I prefer my steak perfectly rare, I like my hamburgers medium. I don’t like them too well done or crispy. I don’t like them too mushy or raw. I also like the perfect arrangement of spices and condiments to give it the ideal burger flavor. I sometimes won’t even eat Ashtyn’s burgers. Well, I used to scoff at her burgers, but she’s finally figured out what I like and if anyone can make it to perfection she can.
The first thing I was impressed with was the endless boatload of French fries you get with your burger. Not that I could have eaten the serving I was given, but Red Robin certainly gives you everything you pay for and then some! To top things off, I ordered the Sautéed ‘Shroom Burger and let me just tell you, their burgers are huge! They ask you how you want them to cook your burger, which is awesome because most restaurants don’t do that. They also let you decide exactly what you want on your burger.
Red Robin has some of the most interesting burgers you could ever dream of eating. You can check out what you can order at the Red Robin website. I had to choose between a few different burgers I wanted to try and I’ll be back to try the others, for sure! The Sautéed ‘Shroom Burger comes with a slathering of sautéed mushrooms, garlic Parmesan butter and melted Swiss cheese. I’m not a big fan of Swiss cheese, but if any burger could make me a fan its this one!
The burger was juicy and way too big to eat in one sitting. If you get a milkshake (deliciously homemade shakes), burger and fries from Red Robin, I guarantee you’ll be wanting a doggie bag before you leave. The burger warms up well, probably because it doesn’t have traditional condiments you wouldn’t want warmed up on it. Overall, I received two delicious meals for the price of one.
Speaking of the price, Red Robin is rather expensive. For what I got, you can expect to pay over $10 per person. Still, for all the food you receive, it really is worth paying more than you would for a standard burger and fries. You get way more food in the way of bottomless fries and a mammoth sized burger. It also tastes better because Red Robin uses fresher ingredients. So, while you pay more, you get something bigger and better. I wouldn’t expect people to go to Red Robin like they would a traditional fast food restaurant. This is more of a casual dining experience and it definitely tastes better than the standard fast food fare.
Overall, I really enjoyed my first visit to Red Robin and I highly recommend the Sautéed ‘Shroom Burger. I gave Ash a bite of this (she had the standard cheeseburger with cheddar cheese) and she vowed to get this burger the next time we go to Red Robin. Until then, I recommend you check this place out for yourself. If you love a good burger, you won’t find a better one in a corporate chain of restaurants then than ones at Red Robin.
