Paula DeenChristmas is fast approaching and if you haven’t located something perfect for the foodie on your Christmas list then you might be scrambling to find something good. If you’re in the market for a new cookbook, here are some of the best when it comes to Food Network. These are all books that I own or have on my wish list. Maybe if I am lucky, Santa will note my good behavior and send me some new foodie fare this year.

Tyler’s Ultimate -
Tyler Florence is an innovative and creative chef. His show, The Ultimate is not only fun to watch, but it inspires numerous ideas for recipes of my own and new things for dinner. Tyler offers everything from breakfast delicacies to Mexican dishes that are simply delicious. Everything on his list is the ultimate to him and those he cooks for and from the things of his that I have tried, I have to agree with his assessment.

Paula Deen’s Best Dishes & Best Wishes for the Best Times of Your Life -
Paula Deen is a Southern Goddess. While it’s true she isn’t about to win any awards with a doctor, if you want something good to eat she can whip you up something fierce! Paula’s Southern flavors will have you licking your fingers as you sit, shocked and in disbelief that your home cooked meal was so easy to make.

Jamie’s Italy -
I didn’t know too much about Jamie Oliver when I received this cookbook for review awhile back. However, after trying it out, it soon became one of my favorite cookbooks. Jamie toured Italy and learned all of the best techniques to share them with you. The results end up being quite scrumptious.

Food Network Favorites Recipes from Our All-Star Chefs -
This just has to be one of the best options for Food Network lovers out there. Rather than trying to please with recipes from one of their favorite chefs why not give them a book that will offer recipes from all of their favorite Food Network chefs? This book has recipes from all of the biggest chefs of the Network so you will receive plenty of diverse options for your dinner table.

Classic 30-Minute Meals: The All-Occasion Cookbook -
Yum-O might be a phrase I’d rather soon forget, but when it comes to quick, easy, and tasty home meals, Rachael Ray is a girl I keep going back to time and again. This book offers some of her easiest recipes with a great selection of offerings to suit all the different cuisines out there.

Cooking from the Hip Fast, Easy, Phenomenal Meals -
My only experience with Cat Cora has been on the Iron Chef competitions. However, it took me all of one episode to fall in love with her food. She is creative, sassy, and she knows her way around the kitchen. Her food has numerous influences including Greek and Southern. While I have not had a chance to check this cookbook out just yet, it’s one of my next planned purchases.

Nigella Express 130 Recipes for Good Food, Fast -
Nigella Lawson is not only beautiful she also is an amazing cook. Her show offers simple comfort foods with the occasional gourmet flair. Many things have been said about Lawson, but the truth is her personality adds layers to her show and her food that cannot be found in other chefs on the Network. If you haven’t checked her out yet, now is as good a time as any to do so.

Bobby Flay’s Mesa Grill Cookbook Explosive Flavors from the Southwestern Kitchen -
Bobby Flay is the man behind the grill. When it comes to Southwestern cooking and the use of peppers, he is your man. I have learned a lot from Bobby and the various shows that he has had over the years. He has remained one of my favorites thanks to his interesting cooking style and his kicked up recipes.

Barefoot Contessa At Home Everyday Recipes You’ll Make Over And Over Again -
The Barefoot Contessa is the mom that you always wanted. In my case, my mom is an amazing cook, but just watching the Barefoot Contessa in her beautiful kitchen as she tells the stories of her husband or has her friends come to visit always tends to make me feel good. Add in the fact that her food always looks great and it makes sense why I added her to the list.

Morimoto: Recipes And Techniques From The Japanese Iron Chef -
Iron Chef is one of my favorite Food Network shows. While I am not always brave enough to try some of the concoctions that Asian Fusion extraordinaire, Masaharu Morimoto whips up, I can say that he is an inspiration to me as a down home gourmet. His food gets me thinking and I love that. I have no doubt that this collection is filled with some delicious meals in many various forms.

I regretfully did not add an Emeril cookbook, which I feel I should have. The reasoning for this is because I could not locate any recent cookbooks that the Cajun Master has put on the shelves. Regardless, any of Emeril’s books are great and would serve the foodie (without them) well.
